It doesn't matter if you're a complete beginner or if you're already a qualified diver and just want to get in the water, UPDUC is the society for you. For beginners, we are able to offer both the PADI and the BSAC route, which you choose is entirely up to you. For the qualified diver, we are able to offer a busy diving schedule which is safely organised by experienced divers and instructors.

Training takes place over the winter term, starting with the pool sessions at the start of the term and building up the the open-water dives taking place not long before christmas (for the brave!). All of our instructors are unpaid professionals who give up their time for free to train you.

Every two years, we run a warm-water training/diving trip to the Canary Islands, should you not be keen on diving in Britain's colder waters during the winter months.
